Manitou launches the MHT 1490, a high-capacity telehandler
During this year’s Conexpo in Las Vegas in March 2014, Manitou unveiled their new MHT 1490, a high-capacity telescopic forklift. Developed for the mining industry and for bridge and tunnel constructions, the MHT 1490 has a 9-tonne lifting capacity and a lifting height of 14 metres.

Technical features of the Manitou’s MHT 1490
The MHT (Manitou Heavy Telescopics) range is made of models designed for heavy handlings. The latest of the range, the MHT 1490 is equipped with an ergonomic cab, a hydrostatic transmission and a JSM (Joystick Switch & Move).Its Mercedes Final Tier IV engine develops 176hp reaching 40 km/h. In order to have a better lateral stability, the new Manitou’s telescopic forklift has an automatic-locking rear axle.
